I lived almost 8 years in Tuebingen before moving north to Frankfurt area and frequently go back to Tuebingen and surroundings and about two years ago following the end of the city's international chocolate festival, I was hoping to find some really good Swabian eats before heading back home. Most people will tell you that really exceptional Swabian food is hard to find within the university town unless you are willing to go to an upscale locale but then that defeats eating local cuisine as it is meant to be eaten. Stumbled upon zum Hirsch in Kiebingen, which is closer to Rottenburg than Tuebingen. Have now eaten there 4 times and have NEVER had anything less than delicious. Yesterday's Sait...
