Shortly before the end of my bike tour to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial I got hungry. So down the cycle path and looking for a location. I didn't have to look for long since I immediately knew the hotel restaurant "Zur Alten Ferre". It is located directly on the bike path, has a beautiful small beer garden, which looks very well maintained and is also. Old Ferry is a café, restaurant and hotel. I had just made a place in the shadows at a table when the host came and asked for my wishes. I ordered a wheat and wanted to bite something. The wheat was a precursor and came fresh from the barrel. It didn't take two minutes, it stood before me. In the meantime, I had selected something from the small but fine and manageable menu. It should be a small part of Matjes, with black bread and fresh onions. If the beer was still fast, the food took about ten minutes. There were 5 tables outside where the guests eat everywhere. For the tasty part of Matjes who came then, wait the ten minutes, but were rewarded loosely. What are ten minutes? There were two almost beer lid-sized slices of black bread, with fresh butter, two really nice thick matjes fillets with a mountain of fresh onions and a salad with red spice, white spice, cucumber and tomatoes. Everything was totally delicious and I only paid ten euros including tip. Since the restaurant has two stages at the entrance, I would say at first glance that it is not suitable for people with disabilities. I don't know if there's a barrier-free access behind the house. The host is a really powerful host. I love these guys. The answer came to the question of a guest whether he should pay: “I hope they can pay.” And other good words came over his lips.
