There you are in a beautiful German town in the Pfalzwald region, which shares its history and style with neighbouring Alsace, and this restaurant lies in the heart of the old town. An authentic restaurant and weinstübe, providing good German food. Plus interesting local wines and some devilishly delicious eaux de vie. Certainly popular with German people: Tuesday night and it was fairly full, and we were as far as I could tell the only foreigners in the place. Also wonderfully friendly as our neighbouring table joined in to help me through my struggling menu German. If the main question is, "Would you go again?", yes, I certainly would. It was a great evening.

We ended up in Annweiler on a whim, which is what happens when you potter about in a motorhome. In this delightful old town in the Rhineland Palitinate, which architecturally shares its soul with neighbouring Alsace, we came across this restaurant and weinstübe. A hearty and delicious German cuisine and some excellent local wines and humming with activity for a midweek evening. Plainly popular with German folk, for I think we were the only foreigners there. Very friendly too as our neighbouring table helped with our attempts to decipher the menu. As for the delicious homemade eaux de vie......

We just stopped by during traveling and we wanted to have a good diner. We only took the main course. I had duck from the Christmas menu and it was super! The personel was nice and friendly.

Ate a light dish of "flammenkuchen". And drank lots of resonably priced, and good tasting wine. We where served by a helpful waiter and charming waitress. Recommend this place.

not too expencive - could be some more - best: "season offers" (for example:asparagus - meat with fresh mushrooms - wild hog - deer)
