This is our host's favourite restaurant, right in the centre of Konstanz- and I can understand why. It has a very old worlde feeling, it's quite dark, there is a good atmosphere and the tables are cosy and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly and luckily spoke English which helped a lot! The food was very tasty and a mixture of traditional German and other dishes. Although the service was a little slow, she kept coming to apologise, it wasn't a problem as we were enjoying the atmosphere a lot. We really loved our visit. If you're in Konstanz, I'd recommend you eat here.
Bedienung rationell aber weit entfernt von gastfreundlich. Man erledigt seine Aufgaben. Der Koch nahm das nicht ganz so ernst. Zwiebelrostbraten mit Rösti. Letzteres nach Nachsalzen ok. Der Rostbraten kam als 2 Fleischstücke. Eines wie bestellt, eines fast komplett durchgegart. Beide waren aus dem falschen Teil der Kuh geschnitten, ohne jegliche Marmorierung und daher, Nr 1, recht trocken, Nr 2 staubtrocken. Der Berg lieblos frittierter Zwiebeln nicht essbar. Schade.
The place looks interesting from the outside, so we decided to try the hot stone steaks. The service felt hurried and unfriendly. The place was really hot and had closed all the windows that it felt choking. Drinks were served immediately and soon after we got the steaks. They were quite small for the price and although on the menu said they came with 3 different sauces, in reality there were 3 different flavored butter servings.
we were having the family there, have already run a few times past the restaurant and had always said ... actually quite sweet, we have to try .nun it was so far ... and I have to say ... it has not been so completely met my expectations .the restaurant is quite nice but it has been far more going out. the service, let's say we are able to grow out again. super nice, but what helps me easily if the cooking is not done.

Wir haben selten so außerordentlich gut gegessen! Die Gerichte waren alle sehr gut, aber am meisten begeistert waren wir von den Käsespätzle, die unsere Tochter hatte. Eigentlich bekommt man die oft über jedoch hier waren sie so ausgewogen und perfekt, dass man hätte ewig weiter essen können.
Leider machte ich heute die sehr unangenehme Erfahrung, ein verdorbenes Stück Fleisch gegessen zu haben. Ich hatte es zwar sofort geahnt, aber weil mein Holzfällersteak so stark gewürzt und auch noch geräuchert war, war ich mir nicht sicher. Aber seit 2 Stunden esse ich nun rückwärts

the menu "heisser stein wendelgard" already lured from a distance so that the decision was made to destiny. the food was delicious, visually clean and professionally compiled - so we like to repeat a visit.

The hot stone is here THE food. And yes, the meat was super delicious. The Rösti too. A star trigger for the sleepy service. Because at 6:00 there wasn't really full yet.
Friendly service however nothing special. But the good was okay for the price. You could say that it might be a bit overpriced as it is a average place.
