We stumbled on this small restaurant/bar while in Mannheim. All the tables were either full or reserved for the night and we were lucky to get some seats at the bar. Friendly service and a genuine local atmosphere had us stay for long enough to...see what great food was being served here. The food is fantastic; Large portions of home made local favourites served with gusto from a compact and busy kitchen. After eating we were introduced to the local drink of Schorle' which is made from the local riesling and soda water (from a perpetully full fridge below the bar). I'd recomend a visit and try to book in advance if you want to eat there.

The food is fantastic; Large parts of home made local favorites served with Gusto from a compact and lively kitchen. After dinner we were presented to the local drink 'Schorle ', which is from the local riesling and soda water (from an eternally full refrigerator under the bar). I would repeat a visit and try to book in advance if you want to eat there.

Start with the fact that this is only the second or third English-language review of this place. And that it's in Mannheim, not exactly tourist-central. Nor should it be. And that you have to walk through little Istanbul to get there, in block But...once you get there, the atmosphere is genuine, as is the welcome. The food is echt Deutsch, the Kartoffeln abundant (they leave them out of the drinks but otherwise everywhere) and wine list short, excellent, and underpriced. In fact the whole thing is excellent value and a wonderful dinner. Ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen ist hilfreich!

Stopped in here one night and couldn't leave haha actually it was pouring so we went back in for another round and when we tried to leave again it was still pouring. The owner offered us an umbrella, asked us where we were staying, said...he would pick it up in the morning. Great place, great service!!!!!! Reserva una mesa ahora

Delightful restaurant that's friendly and offers great food. The Wiener schnitzel is simply delicious. Lovely German atmosphere frequented by locals and no tourists at all! The food was also exceptional value. Go there, you will not be disappointed

We really enjoyed our meal! The service was personal and fast! If you want a delicious home cooked meal, this is the place! We had the pork and it was excellent! It's a hidden jewel in Mannheim!

The atmosphere is amazing! Like the typical German food. You breath the real Germany in this place! I hope I will come back there another time

Very small wine pub with a nice menu. We got the last free table. Good food nice people. Make a reservation if possible.
