Nice to have some spice and salt, noodles, different flavors. The chow mein was really what I was looking for as a comfort food, served with spicy oil and soy on side to adjust taste. also, thankfully, shark fin soup taken off menu.
Called in one evening for a Chinese meal. Noodle soup was tasteless. Main courses we chose were reasonable but the overall impression of the place was not great.
We arrived late to Horta and this place was just down the street from our guest house. We were not sure what to expect from a Chinese restaurant in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean but we found the service friendly and the was pretty good for the price and portion size. They are located in the block behind Peters Sport Cafe which is often to crowded to get near.
The only restaurant open for lunch on Christmas. Even Peters Cafe was closed. Fortunately it was excellent. Very tender squid pirri-pirri. Highly recommend.
Stopped in off the street, great atmosphere, delicious food, kind staff, ready to go back for more as soon as I can!
the wait staff is quick but had no understanding English. I have an allergy to sesame seeds and was worried about getting a meal that served that or used sesame oil. Of course, my meal came and it was covered with them. They quickly took it away and brought one not covered with sesame seeds. I don't know if I had said in Portuguese "sem sementes de sedar" that that would have helped.
I was looking forward to eating Chinese food but I was shocked to see birds nest soup and shark fin soup on the menu.
It has a huge menu with over 100 items. It covers everything from seafood to beef, chicken, pork, vegetable, rice and noodle, sushi. It is not a fancy restaurant. If you want a quick meal with large portion and nice price, decent flavor, then come here. If you are tired of waiting at restaurants and just want a takeout to your hotel, come here. Opens for lunch 12-15, and dinner 19-23. We had salt and pepper shrimp, beef with bamboo shoots and mushroom, and homemade dumplings. Pork dumplings are very juicy and genuine, it is a dish not on the menu but you can ask the owner.
