Went down to Cala Jondal as it is one of the few beaches in Ibiza we have never been to, and decided to stop for a drink here. Asked the woman behind the beach facing bar if it was ok to sit on the sofa...and have a drink, and was told yes, it was fine. Perfect. And then waited. After 15 minutes of watching the staff run around like headless chickens, must have been 10 of them serving only 40 customers, we decided to move on, no problem. Walking back to the car park, the barman allowed himself a cheeky comment of 'muy caro ' (very expensive), obviously not knowing that we speak Spanish. No, 'muy malo ' (very bad) my wife replied. At this point he panicked a bit and pleaded with us to stay and wait. He must have realised we had walked out without ordering anything, maybe it would have been better if he had walked 5 metres to the end of his bar and served us? Just completely idiotic (non)service. Could understand it if it had been at the end of a busy season, but just out of covid quarantine? Really? Tip to the staff (from people who own hospitality businesses) it 's never good to judge who you think can afford your prices. But if you insist, at least don 't be so lazy that you can 't even bother giving a menu (or qr code in these times). The purpose of our visit was to go to an upmarket beach bar and we wanted to pay accordingly, but even the venue wasn 't up to much.
