el olivia is one of our places of choice when visiting gran alacant. After we had no more visit due to covid, we were able to eat for lunch today. we were not disappointed. excellent food, great service great value. a beautiful endurance. before we go home tomorrow. we will be coming back
a higher restaurant and this is reflected in the price, but it is worth it. not the largest menu, but rather a very tasty meal. friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere. recommend this restaurant for something else.
yesterday we went grand alacant and looked for a place to lunch. we found el olivo and we are surprised by the atmosphere, hospitality and excellent eating. we recommend the steaktare and tuna tartars. fresh and of excellent quality....The restaurant is a michelin start worthy.
eating was delicious, service excellent, but not very busy due to the time of the year I think so little atmosphere. but would definitely recommend
We ate here on our last night in Gran Alicant and we were not disappointed. This is by far the best restaurant with regards to layout and decor that we came across during our holiday. The food was also top rated however please be aware...if you have the fillet steak, as I did, they heavily salt during cooking. So either ask them not to do it that way or taste it before adding your own salt. Having said that the food and service overall were superb.
This was our second visit and we were looking forward to it after a great meal a few years back. This time was a completely different experience and we will not be going back. I had the Lamb Chops and partner had Sea Bass. Neither...of these were our first choice, but our first choice was not available despite the waitress not being aware and having to return to ask us to choose something else. Both meals were over cooked a tasteless. Told the waitress and she expressed little interest. The restaurant was empty apart from us and other table, so over crowding is not an excuse. Sorry, but we will not be returning and we’ll make others aware of our experience.
We always have a ‘posh’ night out on holiday and El Olivia is one of our places of choice. The service is great and the steaks!!! I can still taste it now I’m back home. One of the most expensive meals on holiday but worth...every penny for a special treat.
Superb restaurant, amazing service but average food with poor presentation. The restaurant put some itself out there as a star restaurant and appearance wise it is. The staff and service is incredible but all is let down by the food which is very poorly...presented and way overpriced for what is offered. Wine selection is very impressive and outstanding. For euros for a steak I did expect a little more than a steak and chips scattered around it. Bill for people came to euros. This covered one starter to share, mains, dessert to share and one bottle of wine.
