Great food! Great Service! Before I knew that they delivered directly, I was using uber eats. The first few times were good. Then last week I had a bad experience. The uber driver picked my food up, and instead of driving from the deli to my apt in Carle Place, she kept driving further and further away into hempstead. An hour later uber cancelled the order. So I called 2nd street deli to find out if the driver actually picked up my food. They said yes. So the driver kept my food for herself (prob bc the food is so good). They asked me if I'd like to reorder the food and that they would deliver it. Of course I agreed and 30 minutes later the delivery guy arrived. But it wasn't just anyone...i...
I ordered from 2nd Street via Uber Eats and unfortunately, they got my order all wrong. I was really let down, but I decided to reach out to the restaurant to share my experience. I spoke with the owner, Greg, who apologized for the mistake. He then offered to make me a new sandwich and have it delivered to me again. Greg personally brought me my new meal at no extra cost, and you could tell it was prepared with care. It's rare to find such excellent customer service these days, but Greg at 2nd Street Gourmet truly went above and beyond! Thank you!

If you're in the mood for a quick and satisfying meal, the chopped salad is your best bet—it's a solid 5 out of 5 for me! I decided to try a few other dishes, but they didn't quite meet my expectations. I wouldn't recommend the seafood salad, as I don't think Kani qualifies as real seafood. As for the Thunder Road wrap, I was hoping for grilled chicken, but it turned out to be just thinly sliced deli chicken breast with a light dressing. Despite these shortcomings, I still genuinely enjoy their food overall.

Second time here .. First time I had the bacon and egg and then came back later and had The Chicken Cutlet Hero.. I?m back having the breakfast platter.... Everyone knows how I feel about my home fries .. There?s need a little work.. All and all.. All Covid rules are being followed and it is very clean .. The service is amazing .. I will be returning .. Needed some cold-cuts and I was in the neighborhood so I decided to check them out. Walked in and the man behind the counter was very helpful and friendly and seemed to take pride in his work. Saw a sign on the door that said we dog treats and who I thought to be the manager or owner gave me a couple on the house. Also ordered a Madison ave wrap and it was valid. I'll be back
The restaurant has a stunning atmosphere and ample space, featuring impressive architecture within an older building. The food is quite good, particularly the Cobb salad and authentic Italian sandwich. However, I'm not a fan of the potato chips. The staff members are helpful and friendly.
The best deli on the island! We just moved across the street, and my son and husband go there every day. The owner and his nephew are always friendly, and they never forget our order. We would be lost without Second Street! Thank you for consistently providing us with the best food!
