753 South is a unique place with a lot of promise. Writing reviews can be tough since taste is so personal. I tried the macaroni and cheese, described as having a four-cheese sauce and breadcrumbs. With my sensitive palate, I usually prefer milder flavors, so this sounded perfect. However, I was surprised to find garlic flakes sprinkled on top. While some might like this addition, it was unexpected for me. After removing the garlic, I found the mac and cheese itself quite good. The atmosphere at 753 South was decent, but the service was terrible. I ordered a veggie chili for pickup and double-checked with them that it was vegetarian, which they confirmed. However, when I got home, I found beef in the chili. I called back to clarify, and they said they couldn't remember if they made the veggie or beef chili. It was clearly written on the order. The staff was outstanding. The steak tips, which were the special of the day, were simply chopped steak. The portions were ample, and the rest of my group was quite happy with their meal choices. I'm uncertain if I would come back, but that may not be a fully fair judgment.
We consistently seek out Boston restaurants with fantastic patios, and 753 South exceeded our expectations! The food and drinks from the menu were exceptional, and the staff offered a warm welcome. The patio felt absolutely enchanting!
