First time going today and was extremely pleased. I went in for the Chicago style beef which they were out of but I didn’t even care. I was met with warm, caring customer service from everyone right away. Very friendly and all smiles. I was directed to their menu so that my daughter and I could find something different. My daughter chose The Flood and I chose The Sonberg. Both sandwiches were explained and additions offered. We added provolone on The Flood and Italian dressing on The Sonberg. These two sandwiches were magnificent!!! Absolutely amazing!! I also ordered a side of each of their giardinera and OH MY WORD, they are exactly what giardinera should be. Very flavorful!! I will be returning tomorrow for the Chicago style beef Definitely found my new go to deli spot. Kuddos to all of you. Thank you for such a great experience and magnificent food!! The Flood is top sandwich (hoagie style) and The Sonberg is the bottom.
Des Moines is famous for its great Italian family connections that are proud to express their culture through authentic restaurants and delis. Such a place is a small deli called: A taste of Italy food and deli ran from Todd. People are real and know their regulars. My combination of beef, provolone and sausage was great. Waiting was small and the price was reasonable. A great place to stop and in an authentic taste of Little Italy!
My favorite sandwich ever!! I go every Saturday and never get it. The service is absolutely amazing. Everyone is so friendly and interactive. The sandwiches are delicious from this world!! I recommend taste of Italy for all your sandwich requirements and Italian food requirements. Especially if you are like me and live closer to the taste of Italy than Graziano.
