So we’re Egyptian and speak Arabic and tried to order but the guy at the register was so nasty!! He was so rude and impatient doesn’t want to answer basic questions about the fish or how to even order. The food was good but service sucks and they take forever!! God forbid you ask for something extra or forget to order everything you need at one time, they never bring it out!! Abuqir exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I stepped in, the lively summer atmosphere swept me away, instantly putting me in a relaxed and cheerful mood. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and a genuine enthusiasm that made me feel welcome. Their fish dishes, whether grilled or fried, were simply outstanding, with each bite bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. This is not a fancy restaurant but the food is exceptional. Everything is fresh, clean and seasoned just right. It was our first time there and we arrived an hour before closing. The waiter instructed us to first order our choice of seafood at the counter. Then you sit and order the rice, salad, etc. at your table. The wait staff was very friendly. We sat in the outdoor sitting area and enjoyed our meal without any rush to leave before closing.

This is undoubtedly the best seafood I've ever enjoyed in NYC. We ordered the fried red snapper, grilled tiger shrimp, and baba ghanoush, and everything was absolutely delicious! The seasoning was spot on, and each dish was cooked to perfection. They also serve fresh, warm pita with the appetizers. Our server, Sohail, provided outstanding service. Super cool experience! I’ve never been here before. They didn’t pass around any menu. But you go up to the counter where there is fresh seafood and you pick out what you want. None of my group knew a lot about seafood so we took many of their recommendations.The food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely come here again and keep taking recommendations from the staff.

The best seafood I’ve ever tasted. The bread is delightful, the spreads are excellent, and the rice is absolutely addictive. The atmosphere is friendly, but above all, the seafood is simply incredible. This was the first place where I had grilled calamari that surpassed any fried version I'd ever tried. Food: 5/5

Decent Seafood, as fresh as it gets however the way it's prepared is very simple. For presentation I think it was over priced. Like shopping at a fish market and the fishmonger cooked it for you. Didn't really like the side dishes either. Service was okay but the ambiance is lacking.Food: 4/5

I'm torn between giving this restaurant 2 or 3 stars. The food is just average, and the service and atmosphere leave much to be desired. Additionally, the prices are way too high for what you get. All the fish was fresh the shrimps and salmon was soo good, I perfer grilled over fried. Every thing was really good.Food: 5/5
