We went in with perhaps overly high expectations and left very disappointed. The owner was friendly at first but left before our food arrived because it took so long, which made us feel rushed since they were closing, even though it was only 9 PM. When the food finally came, the vegetarian option was mostly bland except for the lentils. Additionally, there were plenty of small flies in the room, which was quite distracting while eating. Overall, we were not happy with our experience.
A small, cozy spot conveniently located near Leonrodplatz. First-time visitors receive detailed explanations about Ethiopian cuisine. The food is prepared in a small kitchen by the chef herself and tastes excellent, with the spice level adjustable to suit European preferences. The meal was perfectly finished with Ethiopian coffee, which delivered a burst of rich aromas. The service by the knowledgeable staff was outstanding.
I have been to Abyssinia Restaurant - Teff twice, once for dinner and once for lunch, and both experiences were very satisfying. The food and wine were excellent, and the service was good. The owner cooks personally and is welcoming to all guests.

That was extraordinary. We trusted the waiter’s recommendations and embraced the unknown. The calf dish is highly recommended. When we’re back in town, we will definitely return. Yum yum!
