We went to Accanto on Saturday night. We were kindly shown a nice table and were looking forward to our dinner. Then our waiter came and asked us if we had been there before. We hadn't said to the water and politely that he must be mistaken. After that he started acting weird. Without going into any details, just like an example: I said I want some wine to eat. At this point he said OK, but first I should finish my beer that I had ordered on arrival. Unser Tisch wurde einfach Gästen gegeben die man kannte und für uns hat man eine Notlösung kreiert. Nachdem wir damit nicht einverstanden waren, wurde der Kellner unverschämt. Später kam dann noch der Inhaber dazu und hat sich mit mir vor all den Gästen auf der Terrasse gestritten. Ultra peinlich. Accanto is by far the best Italian you get in Esslingen. Having lived in Naples IT for 3 years, I can confirm that they meet the typical Neapolitan in an excellent way. Unfortunately, such delicious dishes do not come with the Neapolitan price tag, so your bill will run slightly up. However, I find the service, food and location more than enough to pay a bit extra.
