Having tried African cuisine only once before at a specific Ethiopian restaurant in DC, we decided to let the man who took our order choose our meal for us—he might have been the owner. He recommended the fufu with rice, chicken, and plantains, and he also gave us a meat pie to sample, which was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed Bur?, a sweet bread roll that was delightful. This restaurant is always bustling, but the staff remain friendly, composed, and attentive even during the rush. The food is absolutely incredible—truly the best in the world! If you’ve never been, you really need to check it out. For just $12.50, you can get spicy greens with spinach rice and turkey neck, which can easily be turned into two or even three meals. You really have to experience it for yourself!
This restaurant is the perfect choice for a family outing. I began visiting African Deli years ago with my family, and our experience has always been exceptional. They have never let us down; the pepper soup with fufu and palm butter soup are our favorites. You really have to try this place for yourself. Wow! I absolutely love this restaurant!
If you've never had African greens go here and get you some right now spicy is 2x hotter than American spicy do Keep that in mind while ordering, you can get the spicy sauce on the side and add to your own taste) wow this is long post I just really love this food nothing like it

Everything is good except for the fact that they take their phone off the hook during busy times, not allowing for call ahead. It's annoying to drive 20 minutes to get food then have to wait 20-25 minutes for your order. Otherwise, I like them a lot! Staff is very friendly.
Great food. Only criticism is that they need more people on the phone. I should t call from 2-6pm and not be able to speak to anyone in that timeframe. I would suggest hiring ppl to work the phones. The food is incredible however, just needs an improvement in phone service.
Got their Egusi Soup with Beef (SPICY) and fufu: SMACKIN! BUSSIN! BOMB DIGITY! Lol, please try it. I really like how you can add the type of meat you want VS some places already have assorted meat. Definitely will be back to try other entrees.
Food is good, service is really slow. Don't get the cow skin! Cow skin was such a disappointment. It was hard, rough, and tough. Couldn't even eat it. For an extra $3 for cow skin, I would expect it to be soft.

Over the course of 10+ years I've been eating here the taste of the food is going down. Patrick and his wife has good customer service but the food is lacking now.
The food is delicious, has plenty of flavor. They also give you a large portion for the price you pay.
