Agave Cocina Mexicana

I think I just don't have luck at restaurants named Agave. While the place looks cute, its lack of flavor (or just basic seasonings like salt) make this a place not worth visiting. I appreciate that there was Valet because there is limited street parking and their lot was small. My husband said the valet was rude, but I didn't witness it myself. We were a very large table, so while accommodating, service was very slow and we probably should've had two dedicated waiters vs the poor nice waitress who was completely overwhelmed. Drinks were OK, but everything was watered down and there are no prices on the drink menu. I think we finally ordered appetizers about an hour after we arrived( and entrees about 45 minutes after that). While there was a nice presentation the food was terrible. The cheese fondue, has zero flavor (honestly you couldn't even tell there was cheese) it was a soupy thin mess with chewy shrimp inside. I kept trying to figure out the flavor, and I assume they didn't make the flour mixture in it correctly. The chips they brought out with it were stale, and nothing like the chips we had with a snack (although they never refilled them and we had a tiny helping to share between 6 people. We also split tostados, which looked good but still lacked flavor, even the crema was bland. Since I could tell how the food was I opted for a burrito bowl, but was still dissatisfied. Overall while it may be cute for a birthday, you are better off going to chipotle where the food is much better and at least the service is fast. I have photos but they aren't even worth it to post.

We made a reservation for 20 people on a Saturday night. They were able to accommodate us for our friend's birthday dinner. We show up and pull into the lot, only for the valet to wave us away without speaking to us. We had to park 4 blocks away. Service was extremely slow and our table ordered drinks early, only to get a weird look, but the drinks took forever! I really don't like that there's no pricing for the alcohol on the menu. Some people in the party said their food was good. A lot of us found the food to be very bland. I had the salmon avocado salad. While it was well dressed, it was the same stringy lettuce they use for garnish. For $25, that is unacceptable. The bathrooms are disgusting. Women were complaining that the toilets were clogged and it took 3 flushes to go down. Their happy birthday song consists of horrific plastic whistle, sparklers and a sad clapping song. This is a new layer of hell. I felt like I needed to escape. This was a very frustrating and lackluster experience. I wouldn't make the trip back or recommend this place to a friend.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for Brunch and I was pleasantly surprised. I 've been here before a few years prior for dinner and it was meh experience and didn 't feel a need to return. My friend invited me to brunch and obliged but why not and I had a GREAT time! The music for starters when you walked in set the tone and it was a pretty good playlist! The brunch menu had a decent variety of options and I 've never had a Pancake Taco before so it was a no brainer for me! And because the music had me feeling good I said why not to a mimosa flight and they were full sized! I will say they were already preselected and no modifications. Nonetheless, go for brunch! It could be just a 1:1 or a group outing you 'll have great time!

I love coming here for dinner and for brunch. I wish I could come here more to be honest I have had no issues or complaints every time I come I absolutely enjoy everything. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
