I was a student pilot. A couple of years ago I landed in Lindsay airport. We were hungry and there was a small restate that on site. After a standard bacon and eggs breakfast I spotted butter tarts. I asked the lady what were the best ones and she said coconut. To be honest I don't eat butter tarts and I have never tried one however my wife loves them. I bought 4 and flew back to my home airport. When I went to the office the dispatcher asked if those were butter tarts from Lindsay in the box. Not wanting to be rude I said yes and offered her one. Another dispatcher appeared and asked if he could have one. I obliged then promptly hid the other two. I took them home and gave them to my wife....
My father raves about the service at this little restaurant, and it's his number one choice in the area. My sisters and I had the opportunity for a quick lunch together which rarely happens and decided that 'The Airport' would be a fast and easy place to go. Unfortunately we waited for almost an hour for our food. Perhaps this was unusual, and I hate to put a negative review out there if it was a rare occurrence. However, we were served after folks that came in after us. One of my sisters used to own her own restaurant and we just about had to scrape her off the ceiling. I had heard great things about this restaurant, but I was disappointed. The orders were not coming out quickly from the kitchen. It took 25 minutes to cook a simple dish of eggs and hash browns. The food was not worth the wait, unfortunately. I would give this place a low rating compared to my expectations. Thankfully, I enjoyed the well-done toast.
Stopped in for breakfast while having our car serviced nearby. It was quiet while we were there which, judging by the usually full parking lot, is not normally the case. We were able to chat with the owner as we enjoyed very nice pancakes and excellent bacon and a yummy western and home fries. The coffee was Excellent. We will go back. Reserva una mesa ahora
Whether flying in or driving, this recently renovated restaurant at the Lindsay airport is a gem. New owners have turned this place into one of the best spots to eat in town. Well known for their breakfast and home made butter tarts. Enjoyed a dinner of home made cabbage rolls, and turned the next morning for a hearty breakfast.
They still have their wonderful southern classics .... But they added a spicy Bar B Q ..... Lived in the south all my life and I couldn't get enough of that stuff! Also noticed on my visit today they scored a 98 ! What else can you ask for , clean, delicious and a bargain !
