Ajanta Indian Cuisine

We ordered via ubereats and our order was confirmed and estimated to arrive at 9pm. Just before this time we checked on the app if the food was on its way to discover the order had been cancelled by the shop and we had no idea!!! I phoned the shop to be told one of my dishes requested no potato which was a request they could not fulfill so they cancelled the order!!! We were told if we were to reorder, they would get the food to us ASAP. After another hour, we still didn't have our order! I phoned again to be told the food would be with us in a maximum of 15 minutes...55 minutes later, our food arrived! 3 hours waiting for food which when arrived was cold and the onion bhaji and pakoras were...

I have experienced many different Indian takeaways and this is the only one myself and my husband go to every time now. The food is very tasty and always hot on arrival. We've never had an issue with delivery either. We ordered last night (Friday) and it took about 45 minutes but that's expected. The prawn korma is lovely. I ordered mushroom rice which I must say is a bit spicy. Not sure if it's cooked with some spices? I really can't tolerate spicy food hence the korma, but the rice was still edible even with the spice. I ordered cheese naan and this is the only disappointment. The food from here is lovely. We usually get delivery and it's always piping hot and so fresh. I did collect it myself once and inside is very clean and staff so friendly. Whilst waiting you can see the chef cooking. The portions are generous and price is very reasonable. The only thing I'd say is the cheese naan could do with more cheese. There is parking behind the takeaway but it's very dark. I felt a bit on edge walking back to the car. I'm really pleased I found this place. They use just eat but they have their own app too which offers 10% off. Really excellent little place!

I am currently in New Zealand while my friend is in Orrell. I wanted to help my friend by ordering a meal for him from Ajanta in Wigan. Ajanta has a user-friendly online payment system, which made it easy for me to place an order from across the world. I received a warm personal confirmation and the meal was delivered promptly to my friend. He messaged me to say that the food was delicious. Decent Indian Food, presented well and quick delivery most of the time- though there have been times when it has taken 2 hours plus for the food to arrive with no explanation. Pricing is in the average range. They have tonight decided to come off the Uber Eats and Just Eat platforms. A real retrograde step with no loyalty/discount system on their own app to replace it. I hope they don't regret it as there are other comparable Indians with better offers now,

This restaurant review can be rephrased as: "In one word, the food was appalling. I strongly advise against ordering from this place. The chicken tikka had more onions than chicken, and the excessive spice used seemed to be masking the poor quality of the chicken, which was overcooked and burned my mouth. When I raised my concerns, there was no effort made to address them. Save your money and avoid this restaurant at all costs."

Cancelled my order twice on Uber Eats with no phone call to explain. Cancellation message on app said they were not accepting any new orders but at the time of writing they were still accepting new orders on Uber Eats, Just Eat etc. Very disappointing as been a regular customer before this and always found them a good restaurant. But they have to behave better than this.

We have used this take out many times and always enjoyed it. I rang to place an order today and was told I have to use the website which wouldn't accept my login details so they have just lost over £85 in 1 booking to another take away. Do not order from this restaurant. Our order never arrived after waiting for 3 hours. We spoke to the staff twice and were told that the driver was on their way. When we called again, the staff was very rude and cancelled our order, instructing us to contact Just Eat. We are now £40 out of pocket.

If I could score zero, I would. Had one before and the wait was 2 hours. Thought I would give them another chance. Wish I hadn't bothered. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Terrible service. Absolutely appaling. Won't bother again.
