I would have rated the service five stars, but our waitress initially had a bit of an attitude. She responded rather sharply to my friend's request, but I made a comment that she might have heard, and things improved from there. The food was outstanding—fresh salad, delicious bread, and my husband's lamb shank was both meaty and tender. I had the baked haddock with a baked potato, which was cooked to perfection and piping hot when it arrived. My friend ordered the chopped steak but had an issue with its preparation; it was cooked well on the outside, but the center was rare. We tried this place for the first time. We were seated and asked what we'd like to drink. We ordered tea and coffee since it was breakfast time. We waited about 10 minutes and even though the waitress only appeared to have 3 other tables, she didn't come back to take our food order and no drinks were delivered. The table next to use had a problem with our order and we decided to leave. No one asked us to stay. We won't be back. No idea how to food tastes or looks. The interior was nice and the staff seemed friendly. Very disappointing overall though.
My husband really enjoyed his roast beef and said it was excellent, though he isn’t a fan of mixed vegetables. Fortunately, I enjoy them! He also ordered the chicken stir fry for me. While I typically like it, this time was different. The sauce was a golden color instead of the usual rich brown, and I’m not sure if it was watered down or if they used a different recipe. I managed to eat part of it but ultimately couldn’t finish it, so I ended up throwing away more than half of the dish. I don’t think I’ll order it from this restaurant again.
Alex's was recommended as a nice local family owned diner. It looks great inside and out. Nice lunch vibe. However, the service was poor. The server barely looked at me while taking (before, during, and after) my order no smile. Never got water, though I watch glasses going to tables around me. I ordered a BLT, and while there was a good portion of thick sliced bacon, it had a distinctly sour greasy flavor. I love local restaurants and giving great reviews, but couldn't do it this time.

The restaurant has a nice and serene atmosphere with generous portion sizes. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is attentive and professional. I enjoy dining here because I can have a meal without the distraction of television noise. There are plenty of tables and booths available. I’ve been there several times and have never been disappointed. Plus, there's a stoplight nearby, which makes it easy to head north on Rochester Road.
This place is pretty good and decently priced. Great breakfast and it's available all day. I really like the Gratiot location as well but this location has a much cleaner interior. You never wait long so I appreciate that and will definitely be back
Beautiful, clean diner with amazing food! My wife and I are from out of town and were just passing through. We are glad we stopped! This was a great choice for a dinner spot. We will be back next time we are in the area.
The chicken lemon rice soup was outstanding! The 1/2 lb. Angus burger was fantastic as well. My family's dishes were all delightful. I will certainly return!

This restaurant is a lovely spot for comfort food and all your favorite Coney Island dishes. It's an ideal place to relax and enjoy time with your friends.
It has a good atmosphere, the food is delicious but the coffee is simple!
