Let me keep it concise: I live in Canada but have visited Boston three times in my life. On my first trip, about ten years ago, I stumbled upon a last-minute hotel deal in Winthrop, not realizing it was a bit outside the tourist area of Boston. While looking for a place to eat on Shirley Street, I discovered Alia's. Having spent several months in Italy, I know what authentic pasta should taste like (and it doesn’t have to be in Italy to be good). I settled in and tried what became the best pasta I’ve ever tasted in America. Now, whenever I plan a trip to Boston, dining at Alia’s is my top priority. Service can't get any better! The owner personally served and customized our order to our taste. He made us feel welcome by adjusting the temperature and lighting in the restaurant. It was an absolute VIP experience. He also offered cooking off menu items for us! Food is top notch! Very fresh, warm and very sophisticated flavors spices! Atmosphere is amazing! Quiet with dim lights! Can't imagine a better place to have a romantic dinner on a Friday night!

This is a hidden gem off the beach in Winthrop. The food is tasty with a hint of spice that is rarely found in Winthrop.
