Amaranta - Reservar una mesa

After thoroughly enjoying watching Levante beat Real Madrid we crossed over the square to the traditional setting of Amaranta for an extremely memorable lunch experience. Choosing from the regular menu rather than opting for the set lunch offer was easier on the wallet and the belly. Both tofu dishes we chose were freshly prepared, delicious and definitely worth the wait. It was a pleasure to talk with the owner about how meat free dining has evolved in Girona since Amaranta was established in 2004. Make sure you don’t leave without trying the simple but sensational chocolate salami cake. On a second visit in October 2019 we had the €14.99 set 3 course lunch menu including a glass of cava and water and left speechless. This is a wonderful wonderful place.

It was pretty busy when we arrived but there were still some tables available thankfully. The person serving us was able to explain everything in English very well. His English is a lot better than my Spanish haha. There are plenty of surprising also local dishes to choose from. The staff are very friendly. Prices are reasonable. Would eat here again if in the neighbourhood!

This is smart classy restaurant. It has a formal feel though it is unpretentious and extremely friendly. We visited for lunch and the experience was rather special. My main meal was baked tofu in vegetables and sauce, the tofu was silken which I am not usually a fan of but this was divine.

I've eaten numerous times at this vegetarian restaurant. The food is always good although one time I was disappointed at the size of the portions. Most times I've been there I've been very happy with the food and the excellent service.
