I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Amici however there were a couple of little things that could have made my visit even better!My friend and I arrived at quarter to 8, to an almost empty restaurant. When we asked for a table of 2 the wait staff had to check with the chef if they could seat us. She returned and told us it would be fine however they were a little low on cream and to keep that in mind when ordering.We were seated at a table right next to the door which seemed a little odd as Amici also do takeaways so we constantly had people coming in and out. This Italian restaurant was always crowded when we walked past, and I’m not surprised. It appears quite small, although there is a dining area at the back, and we were fortunate as when we were looking in and bemoaning the fact that it appeared packed, a couple at a table for two just inside the door started to leave. We were in their chairs before they had cooled!The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they have a good menu of Italian dishes, including many pizzas, for which you have the option of four sizes. We were referred to this place for our final dinner in Hobart and we had high expectations as we had been to some excellent restaurants in Hobart but we were sadly disappointed. The wait staff were disinterested, there was plenty of seats inside but we were seated in the covered outdoor area in the back with other diners. We ordered pasta dishes and were met with bland and somewhat sloppy pasta. The staff never asked how our meals were and we were generally ignored and decided not to stay for dessert.
We had often thought of eating at Amici and finally got there and now we will be returning before long as it was lovely food. Also, very pleased not to have to plough through one of those pretentious menus full of exotic concoctions. Obviously a very popular restaurant as only a 6 pm sitting available and it was bustling with diners and the staff were attentive and pleasant.Both had veal (Funghi and Mozzarella) and both were tender and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.A rare 5/5 for us.
Dropped by this great little Italian place for dinner and we weren't disappointed. Nice decor, good service and some tasty food. No wonder it rates well. We had nice arancini, a great pasta and scallop dish and a lovely veal and prawn dish and a good bottle of Italian red. Ticks all the boxes and not expensive either and big servings too!

Pasta grande, aunque en realidad recomendaría el tamaño principal de la entrada, también habría preferido un poco más con un entrante común. Mousse de chocolate blanco fue fantástico para el postre, ¡solo asegúrate de compartirlo!

We had delicious meal tonight at Amici. We had the Pizza Bread and coming from New York it was the closest to NY Pizza we have had here in Tasmania. The veal dish was so tender and the sauce wonderful. A great experience.
This is not Italian Italian or even noveau Italian. It's all your favourites well done with a decent well priced wine list. Service by new but enthusiastic waitresses. Nice and comforting
