Dinner at amici 30A was fine (to be clear, not the “fine” that inspires terror when your wife utters that word). It was just fine. It was already packed but we were immediately seated at the Chef’s Counter. Always weird to eat seated side by side, but a good view of how hard the kitchen staff works. Our waiter was genuinely friendly and made our dining experience a good one.We had the arancini starter. They were good, not oozing in oil but one of mine was slightly cool suggesting that it hadn’t been thoroughly warmed but didn’t turn me off from finishing it. These aren’t equal to what you get from a street vendor in Rome but they did the trick. I had the lasagna as my main. I liked it. It’s a lot of pasta and meaty enough. It needed some veg, like spinach to knock it out of the park for me. The tomato sauce was a little watery but not enough to be a deal breaker.amici 30A is fine. Decent Italian option for sure.
