A pleasant surprise in an Italian restaurant and pizzeria. You walk past the pizza takeout to a white tablecloth restaurant in the back. Typical Italian decor, but unusually good food, in my opinion. An extensive menu, with lots of specials, from lobster to veal to all the pastas. We ate here two nights in a row-which is a recommendation in itself. First night, we were tired from a stressful road trip, but felt ourselves relax with the friendly service and warm ambiance. Bella, our server, was warm and helpful with suggestions. Upon arrival, we noticed that the front of the restaurant was a bustling pizzeria and discovered a cozy dining area in the back, which seemed inviting. We were seated quickly, received water and drinks, and began to look through the menu. However, to our dismay, we realized there was no pizza listed. We inquired about a separate pizza menu, assuming that this was just a mix-up typical of a classic Italian pizzeria/trattoria. The server informed us that pizzas were only available in the front area and not in the dining room, which seemed quite strange. I'm a fairly regular customer here and order in and visit there for dinner about once a month. I tend to stay with the entrees and usually find them to be pretty good and reasonably priced. Anyway, for a change I decided to order in a pizza this evening...this was a mistake. A very dry cardboard-like crust, uninspiring toppings, and sub-par cheese. It really reminded me of a grocery store-bought frozen pie and is not what one expects in a suburban NY area pizza restaurant. Bottom line...Amici is a very decent place with reasonable prices, and a good value for casual Italian dining. Just steer away from the pizza.

I used to visit this restaurant in the late '80s, and I can confidently say that the food is still excellent today. The pizza here is among the best in Rockland County, and the staff is always friendly and appreciative of your business. Many other pizzerias in the area seem to treat customers as if they're doing them a favor by selling pizza, but that's not the case here. I highly recommend Amici's – it's no surprise that the restaurant has been thriving since 1978.
I absolutely love this restaurant! The portions are generous, the food is fantastic, and the service is wonderful. The cozy seating in the back adds a nice touch. My boyfriend and I visit frequently, and we’re always pleased with the service. We find that we spend the same amount here as we would at any other place, yet we always end up with leftovers. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I’ve never had any complaints.
Friendly and clean but chicken parm hero and chicken wrap were made with paper thin tough tasteless chicken. Barely edible. Antipasto salad was nothing special. Have had better.New owners have to use same recipes that were used by the original owners if they want to be successful
I understand there are new owners. I ordered pasta with meat sauce. Well it was terrible!!!!! Very salty, the meat sauce was 90% meat (great) however NO sauce mixed in so it wasn't good. SALTY!!!!!!!!
