This restaurant is a convenient option if you're indecisive and don’t want to wait for a table elsewhere. The portions are enormous, which is matched by the prices. Personally, I find this off-putting; I would prefer more reasonable portion sizes with adjusted pricing. Many establishments are increasing portion sizes to justify raising their prices. As it stands, you often end up with enough food for another meal or even two. However, the quality of the food has consistently been good. I've tried their breakfast with eggs and hash, gyros, burgers, and fries, and I've enjoyed everything I've ordered.
It was my first time visiting Oceanside, CA, and a friend took me to dine at Angelo’s. The food was amazing, and the portion sizes were very generous! The ambiance of the place wasn’t anything special, but don’t let that fool you! I visited one location the first time and a different one during my second visit to Oceanside, and both were fantastic. While the decor could be improved, the food more than makes up for it.
Angelo's is an Oceanside institution, and a welcome break from corporate fast food. Portions are huge, and the food is cooked quickly and is uniformly delicious. This won't be your least expensive meal, but it will be one of the best for the money. On this visit, I brought a Troop of Boy Scouts and even normally ravenous teenaged boys found that they had too much food to eat.
We ordered the surfers plate and a cheeseburger. The portions were quite generous, and the food was tasty. While it wasn’t extraordinary, it’s definitely worth checking out a local eatery. I rated it 4 stars because the interior is quite worn and could use some upkeep to enhance the overall dining experience.
Interesting spot. It was my first time. It’s big inside! And a little rugged/dated.. The avocado burger was great though! So big! And a ton of fries!! I was so full after the burger I had to take the fries to go. Will go back and try the Greek. And the breakfast burrito that the sign claims is the best.
