I've worked in the food industry for 20 years and have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world and I have to say that my experience at Animal was perfect! My favorite thing about Animal is that the food, service, space is not pretentious at all, but the quality and standards are incredibly high. The food was perfection, everything was seasoned and cooked exactly right and every dish was a pure delight. The Ricotta Gnudi was one of our favorite, a rich, balanced and succulent bite that melted into your mouth. The Soft Shell Crab with curry sauce was a pure delight to every sense. Absolutely enjoyed our brunch here. The space is spare and modern but naturally well-lit. The service was informed charismatic. Only have beer and wine, however, how we the selection is varied and esoteric. We adored the bodega sandwich, the avocado toast was my favorite ever. The cheese and chorizo was a melty delight while the poutine was a rich, unctuous revelation. The hamachi tostada was a perfect counter with its sharp acidity, salty, sweet and fatty notes. While we didn’t think we could eat anymore, the cheesecake pudding guava passion fruit graham was the highlight of the meal: cool and cold; creamy and crunchy; sour and mildly sweet. 14 years and a pandemic later, this iconic restaurant still serves tasteful dishes, such as the chicken liver toast (now spread-es-yourself,) the tomato tonato, the 3S anchovies (salty so satisfying,) the roast sweetbreads, and the light and unstoppable strawberry pfirschen. small but relevant selection of weeping and sake, along with some interesting cocktails. the setting is elegantly simple. super friendly staff. well, an institution that deserves to stay one.

amazing eating! excellent taste combinations. we had several dishes that are part of the experience of mixing everything on the plate together to get all the aromen together. that was funny. great service. Half-casual ambiente. highly recommended!

All dishes were creative. Not a few of them using Japanese cuisine idea, ingredients or food products. I was happy with all dishes we ordered but sometimes felt too salty. Also, their wine collection was good.
