Update. I went here again last week. We ordred the chicken Karai Kudi which was on specials and Fish Curry. The fish curry to me was obviously too fishy but for my freind it was just about okay although on the spicier side. The chicken Karai Kudi was super spicy. Well to be honest, I didnt like it too much... there are some dishes which are spicy and yet tasty. This one was ****** crazy with so much of masala and little taste. This place is probably not recommended by me...

In the past 2years of living in Parra, my partner always stopped me from going to Anjappar -coz his experience was that bad ! So when my friends invited me to for a catch-up to the same place , I thought to myself- how bad can it be !!
Entree- crab soup - I've lived in Tamil Nadu for a long time to know that what they served was just some curry mixed with water and a couple of crab legs. Burned my mouth, which I expected - but it wasn't anything great. Vegetable soup or whatever they called it didn't have any taste - absolutely bland!

So we just landed in Sydney 2 days back and wanted to have a quick lunch while walking around Parramatta CBD. Saw this place and decided to give it a try. Service was fine, they promptly provided us with a baby high chair for my boy. We just ordered veg thali meals and rice and chicken curry. Ordinary quality rice and chicken curry was just OK. Wouldn't try that any more. Thali meals was better. By the way rasam was very nice. So any rasam lovers can try this place.
This is the worst restaurant in whole Sydney. They didn't know the order to serve the food. Main course first and starter last....
If you are a group... I will say it some of you come back hungry...
Have to write about their service it is the worst and they didn't understand the normal language.
Never ever try this one... U will end up with a worst experience and mood....

Disappointed.. this is supposedly one of the more famous South-Indian restaurant chains, but the food, at least here in Australia, just does not live up to the mark. The biriyani was bland, the chicken dish far from the 'spicy' as advertised.
Probably the wort restaurant i have been to whole of Sydney. Food is terrible and service is even worse.
Had to wait a long time after they got my order wrong the first time around. Awful experience, wouldn't recommend this place to anybody.
The staff is nice, however the food is just okay.. our order took forever to arrive and they just served one dish at a time. They had no care for hygiene and seems like they haven't even washed some of the cups.. not happy
I remember going to the one in the HSBC centre in the city and popped in for a takeaway samosa. Nice crunch to the pastry packed with potato and that pungent cumin taste in the filling!!!

Some of their best dishes: Spl Anjappar Chicken Gravy, Chicken Egg Kothu Parotta and Idly. If you are looking for authentic south Indian dishes, this is the place to go.
Very **** service. Rude managers. Like if u dnt want to serve the customer u should close ur restaurant . Even The food was not really good.
