I was invited to meet an old friend for dinner and she recommended going to Anthony's in Falls Church. Anthony's is a very fine Greek restaurant which serves other menu favorites from sandwiches to pizza. In my hour plus stay at the restaurant, I saw apizza every 7 minutes or so get picked up and taken out. For a Greek restaurant to be serving that many pizzas tells yousomething. My friend had the chicken souvlaki platter and I had the gyro platter. Overall I have to say we were disappointed. The good thing there, the food is not salty like most other restaurants We eat-out very often; at least several times a week. We eat all kind of cuisines; have ate at both Greek, and Italian for years. For someof reasons Anthony?s failed to impress us, could it be because we had such a high hope as the restaurant got such a highratings? May be. Chicken meat is too dried, the side salad is fresh but the cheapest kind. The potato chips came with Pitasandwiches are good, but you can hardly go wrong with a bag of chips, anyway. The smell of the food in your car en route home is absolutely maddening!!! You just wanna pull over, stuff your gob, then go back for more. Food's great fresh better as leftovers tomorrow. Certainly get your money's worth. Hope they're around forever.
