It?s all about what you order and how you order it. I usually get the spicy miso tonkatsu with thin noodle, really rich and flavorful broth. A good alternative is spicy tantan men which is made with a sesame paste as the base; it?s a thicker soup but has a strong earthy yet balanced flavor. The takoyaki is extremely on point and the honey garlic karaage hits so good. That being said, if you know what good ramen and ramen shop food is supposed to taste like then you know that Arashi is the best place in WA to go to. Another excellent option is the spicy tantan men; it has a sesame paste base, resulting in a thicker soup with a robust, earthy, yet well-balanced flavor. The takoyaki is spot-on, and the honey garlic karaage is absolutely delicious. middle of the road ramen spot. everything I ordered was good. but my chasu bowl was cold even the rice was room temperature. so either they had an extra and kept it on the side and gave it to me. steamed rice takes a longtime to cooldown but mines felt like they made it an hour ahead. cleanliness isn't their strong point either..they were putting bar rags next to water pitchers and check presenters all over the back area..cross contaminating from other tables in the back service area.
It was fine. Went right before the dinner rush. The staff was not particularly friendly, but not rude. The busser just sorta put the food down on the table and abruptly left; seemed a little terse. The karaage was ok. Not great, not bad. The ramen was also fine. Bonus points for the price point. It was my first experience enjoying ramen that wasn't from a microwavable cup, and I really liked it. I ordered it with medium spice, but I think it would have tasted even better if I'd opted for extra spicy. There was a subtle smoky flavor, and the broth was savory and hearty. I also tried the honey fried chicken, which was a bit salty for my liking, but would pair perfectly with a bowl of rice.
This restaurant was very speedy. I ordered the spicy tantan men extra spicy. It was very good. The heat was pretty good not overbearing but noticeable. I had it as a combo with a salad and appetizer of honey garlic karaage. The karaage was only three pieces and the salad was a little small. Regardless, it was tasty. The second entree was a honey garlic karaage bowl which was very good as well.
