Our first visit here the other day was quite a unique day. We were moving into the area and were quite stressed from the moving. We also got caught in a sudden deluge of rain that is quite unique to Melbourne's changeable weather. Anyway we were starving and ventured into the Smith St area to find some lunch. A few places we went past particularly in this section of Gertrude St were packed. We were delighted and relieved to notice that Arcadia didn't look as full so we went inside. I was automatically impressed by the friendly greeting we received upon walking in. It may not sound like a huge thing but after the day we were having, it made us feel welcome. We have been to Archie's next door quite a number of times, but today we couldn't be bothered with the Archie's typical cue ... so we went to Arcadia. And - we will absolutely be back!! A fantastic menu had our mouth watering before we even ordered .... but our food arriving was even better than we had expected. Coffee was hot and really, really good. All the sweets in the cabinet looked wonderful - but I was far too full to partake after my brekky.Definitely be back, and hopefully without the Archie's cues - I'm really not sure why people don't try it rather than waiting.
Close to St Vincent's Hospital, open nice and early (I was there at 7am). The service was great, and I loved the omlette! The young man who served me (one of the owners) was a genuine, lovely person and I thank you for starting my day off on a positive note
It's one of my favorite restaurants in whole Australia every time I am in town I come here for breakfast Great service and delicious food Specially the breakfast Coffee lovers this is your place As a foodie and coffe addict I recommend you to try it

We were staying nearby this weekend and popped in a couple of times for a coffee/juice or snack. Each time we were welcomed by friendly staff and quick curtious service. The quality of fare never wavered from impressive. We shall return
We love this place. Always a good vibe, good coffee, lots of choices, but always GREAT food. Get off the tram before or after, but get off and go. We think it's the best food in Fitzroy or Collingwood.

If you want a quick bit to take away this place might be ok But we stopped for soup and it tasted awful. Food is prepared and ok when warmed up. But is definitely missing a bit of love

The scrambled eggs on toast with sautéed spinach was so good! And the middle eastern eggs with the various accompaniments looked yum! Good coffee too :)
I had the halloumi burger and a white negroni cocktail and both were unreal! Def worth checking it out
