We moved back to Seattle in December and have been trying out various Mexican and South American restaurants in the south end. Archie’s was our fourth stop, and I can confidently say we won't be searching for a while. From the chips and guacamole to the fried ice cream, everything we ordered was excellent, and the service was outstanding. It's a nice place, but the food quality is not great, I would not recommend. As far as Mexican food goes, there are many better choices. It's all right, reasonably clean and some people like it, especially for the drinks. Vegetarian options: Plenty of choices of vegetables or meats. We decided to give this restaurant another try after four or five years, but unfortunately, the food was disappointing. My taquitos were burnt, and the beans lacked flavor and were overly oily. My husband's dish contained what seemed to be American cheese, both in taste and appearance. The silver lining was the service—everyone was friendly and attentive, checking in on us multiple times. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming but I was a little disappointed with the food. The fajita quesadilla could have used more chicken and less cheese, it was pretty greasy! The enchiladas were buried in a pile of cheese. While I understand cheese is a given in a Mexican restaurant, it felt overwhelming. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
