Ash is one of the top restaurants in Birmingham. Their menu changes weekly, offering a variety of delicious dishes that are sure to impress. The Chef has a knack for creating dishes that are not only tasty but also beautifully presented. The restaurant is family-friendly, with a great kids menu that even includes a chicken tender plate for adults. The wine list is diverse, and they also offer cocktails and local beers. The service is consistently excellent, no matter what time of day you visit. We recently celebrated a birthday there, but you don't need a special occasion to enjoy a meal at Ash. We highly recommend it!
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our first trip to Ash! The fried green tomato appetizer was excellent (terrific breading on the tomatoes and they were cooked perfectly) and my girlfriend loved her salad. My brisket and our bread pudding dessert were both ever so slightly overcooked, but still delicious they would have both been perfect if taken out just a minute or two sooner. The service was excellent, the drinks were well made, and everything on the menu represented good value. We will definitely be back!
The food at Ash is always excellent. I had the meatless main, and it was fabulous. Who knew grilled avocado could be so delicious and filling?! My companions ordered a salad with fried chicken tenders, the brisket plate, and the pork chop special. They all said it was the best incarnations of those dishes they had eaten anywhere. We also ordered desserts, and since I'm gluten-free, I ordered the applesauce, which was also fabulous.
Our first dining experience at Ash was not great. It was loud, service was bad, and food was average. Almost a year later we decided to give it another try....there will not be third. Very limited menu and what they do serve is not very good.

The food was spectacular. I loved the uniqueness of the menu and the quality portions of the plates. Overall it was a very nice experience, and it will definitely be a new regular stop when we are in the area.
We loved getting to visit Ash! When we’re in Birmingham again, we’ll certainly be back. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the vegetable accompanying mine and my husband’s dishes were delicious.
The fried green tomatoes were delicious. The hamburger was decent, but had a slightly overpowering smoky flavor. I also tried the side of the day, collard greens, and absolutely enjoyed them!
Great food, great chef in a young couples neighborhood restaurant. It is very loud, with concrete floors and Cindy block walls. It was like eating a posh meal in your unfinished basement.
