When we first visited Asian Legend after they opened it was great food and friendly staff. After that it seemed to be getting worse and worse. We decided to visit April 22, 2017 @ around 7:30pm, we were a goup of 12 and agreed to be placed in the private room which consisted of a minimum. As of 9:00pm we had still not received any of our food. Once we complained, our waitress said she was taking our order to the kitchen now at that moment. Oh yws and to top it off the restrooms were flooded. Instead of our usual spring rolls, we decided to try the Rolled Onion Pancake with Sliced Beef from the Dim Sum menu. It was served wrapped in tin foil and sliced into four pieces. We were unsure if we should use the tin foil to hold each piece while eating, but we quickly unwrapped it and enjoyed every savory bite. Next, we shared a small bowl of Hot and Sour Soup. The portion size was generous, enough for two individual bowls each. I found the soup to be spicier than what I am accustomed to, but it was still a tasty second dish. We were shopping at Vaughan Mills Outlets and thought to try the newest Asian Legend restaurant located in Vaughan. We ordered their pork dumplings (#9), pork soup dumplings (#3), spicy beef noodle (#120) and rice with vegetable and ham ((#140), our usual that we would order from the Asian Legend on Leslie & Finch. While this place was clean, they were disorganized, as we stood at the front door for over 5 minutes before the lone waiter came to seat us. The ambient is great, the decorations are simple but very nice. Crowded on weekends, I am not sure during weekdays. The food is based on the Shanghai cuisine. Typical steamed or fried dumplings, xiao long bao, hand pulled noodles, etc. The flavors and portions are good but I found it a bit pricey. Regarding the service, it was good, very attentive staff. This restaurant is likely one of the top spots for authentic Chinese cuisine in Vaughan. The service is quick and friendly. While prices may be slightly higher than those at northern Chinatowns in Markham/Richmond Hill, it is still one of the best options in Vaughan for authentic Chinese food.
I and my wife really liked the atmosphere, service and unusual (for us food which was very tasty and special. Prices are very affordable if taking in account the sizes of portions. Highly recommend place (especially if you drop off your kids in Wonderland and have time to rest and enjoy! .
I always drive here from my home in Milton. We visit different locations, but this one is our favorite. The staff here is amazing, and the food is delicious. Every item on the menu is great, and I have never been disappointed when trying new dishes. I would recommend this place to anyone.
