The food at Athens was above expected quality levels for the restaurants slightly lackluster appearance. The people working at the restaurant were kind and welcoming. Checking in on us often, ensuring that our drinks were constantly topped off. The conversations we had with the staff were enjoyable and brisk, allowing us to enjoy are food while still engaging us where the decor couldn't.We got the Moussaka, Chicken Kebob, and panakopita appetizer all of which we would recommend. I ordered a pick up from door dash store front it was a busy work day and I was looking forward to not cooking. When I arrived, the staff Rachel indicated that she had not received my entire order. Meaning, they charged me but were not going to be able to fulfill my order. She stated that there was some kind of glitch in their Point of service system and that if the owner were here we would make your order; but because the owner was not there she could not have the kitchen make the order in fear of getting in trouble?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? . I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. While our server, Rachel, was fantastic—very sweet and attentive—the food left much to be desired. The Greek soup was underwhelming, and the moussaka was frankly laughable. It was served with a basic salad of just lettuce and tomato drizzled with Greek dressing. The portion sizes were small, and my dish was burnt on the bottom. To make matters worse, the price was $20. I did arrive about an hour before closing, but I don’t believe that should compromise the kitchen’s standards. I recommend exercising caution if you decide to eat here.
I was in the mood for a gyro and I have not tried this place before so I thought I would give it a try. I ordered the chicken euro and I was so disappointed that I will never return to this place again and I do not recommend.The cook In the back took some chicken chunks that were a day old and reheated them and put sauce on them and served that to me. I hate reheated chicken and I know exactly what it taste like and it came out very fast which tells me that he did not cook this fresh.I took one bite of that and returned it and left the restaurant.

I was craving a gyro and decided to try this place since I hadn't been there before. I ordered the chicken euro, but I was so disappointed that I won’t be returning and would not recommend it. It seemed like the cook took some day-old chicken chunks, reheated them, added sauce, and served it to me. I cannot stand reheated chicken, and I know its taste well—this was clearly not freshly cooked given how quickly it came out. After just one bite, I returned the dish and left the restaurant.
The Gyro Pita was absolutely amazing! I opted for the Platter version, and the potatoes were delightful as well. Our server, Racheal, was incredibly sweet and attentive. The flavors of the food were just fantastic—each bite was a celebration on my plate!
I have reviewed this place before. Are you looking for great Greek food? This is my favorite place in all of Charleston. It's small, quiet, and never crowded. Try the chicken Kabob, pizza, or Greek salid. These are my favorites.
Love, love the lasagna and the veal Parmesan. Everyone was so nice and friendly even the owner came up and spoke to us. The only thing lacking is maybe some hanging plants for atmosphere.

This is a very quaint restaurant with a traditional Greek decor. Very charming. I was just so surprised by having the VERY BEST GYRO I’ve ever had!!! You have to try it. Highly recommend!
Got the chicken pita Greek sandwich and it was one the worst sandwiches I’ve ever had… the chicken was over cooked and almost rock hard.
