we had not used the restaurant for about 8 years, having not been impressed during our last visit. It's now a transformed place and we went there four times this year. It is a hotel and a restaurant but, being quite local, I only experienced it as a restaurant, so my opinion is on this basis. the place is in a charming rural setting but only 500 meters from the main road. there is a beautiful terrace when time allows it and the dining room itself is bright and comfortable. the owner is usually of service and serves as a sommelier. the wine house comes from a good local vineyard about 2 km (majoulière) and is worth it - both red and rosé. I didn't try white. the staff is very helpful and frie...

We went there by chance, the previous negative criticism was false. It wasn't! there was no atmosphere and the staff seemed very young and inexperienced. We had a terrible bottle of local wine from the nearby area that looked like vinegar. the menu was a return to the 1970s, i.e. melon to the porto, almond trout and white-eat. Has life not evolved? We decided to opt for the more expensive fixed menu. the salads were soft and not appetizing. I bought better in a supermarket bag. They were drowned in a strong dressing. the inputs seemed to have spent the previous 24 hours in a cooling unit waiting for someone to order them and were cold in the refrigerator. The bread was stale and had been war...

I went there on Monday night and I ended up being the only people present (3 of us). but really delicious food, good wine, with a choice of prices (always a little exaggerated in france knowing how much they cost from the local vineyard, but a bottle at 24 € was very pleasant) and friendly waiter, good caring service without feeling that we were observed or pressed. I'd definitely go back to another special occasion. there was the menu at 39 € that offered a good choice because, basically, you choose your 3 dishes from the main menu. I think it would also be an ideal place for a big party because they will leave it to you in exclusivity (but probably not in high season).

a young couple working together to make a success for themselves. The food is good, not great. I am not a professional chef but a professional eater and each dish was okay, it was just missing something to make it great. The service was outstanding. Sylvain in the front of house is the main reason we would return. The hotel that houses the restaurant is a little old and dated. Perhaps, over time they could personalize the space and update it to reflect their vision and personality. I want them to succeed. As previously mentioned in another review they even treated our dog as a guest. What do I know? Please go and give them the chance. We will.

You'll wonder if you will ever find a hotel when you venture off the main road to Villecroze down a small tree-lined alley, but persist and you'll come to the Hotel Bien Etre and its restaurant. Parking is off-road and tight when the hotel is busy. Two menus are offered and the restaurant is flexible about switching dishes from one to the other. We enjoyed both the 29 and 39 euro menu. All the food was good, especially the gambas done wih pastis and risotto. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We'll be back (now that we have found the place).

We had to come back a second evening as the food and especially the service, from the two cheery, delightful and professional waiters was excellent. Some of the best meals on our month long 'gastronomy tour ' of France. We fortunately got in just before they shut for the season, the village is lovely and very good wine at neighbours Domain St Jean Villecroze.

Au Bien Etre is my recommendation for dining when visiting Villecroze. The owners Florence Sylvian are great hosts and the staff are very welcoming. The menu is French cuisine. The location is off the main road very peaceful. Au Bien Etre serve beautiful coffee which is the way I like to finish my dining experience.

owner change. attention: more level michelin, although in the red guide 2012 mediocre food, nothing special. I'm not advised to go.
