To anyone visiting beautiful Riquewihr for the first time, it's worth knowing which are the touristic and which are the classic Alsatian restaurants. Au Dolder is very much in the latter category (also see Le Tire Bouchon, La Grappe D'Or, Brendelstub). Welcoming professional staff and all the classic Alsatian dishes cooked to a high level, with one or two others so there is something for everyone. Portions are substantial and even for three adults two dishes is enough. Good selection of local wines, fairly priced.
my daughter and I travel five days in the Alsace region. our lunch here was one of the best meals we had. they enjoyed the sour wort with several different ham and sausages. I had the coq au vin that was excellent. so delicate...prepared with many colorful fresh carrots and mushrooms. it was served in a hot, deep dish typical of the region. the place was packed at midday and several were turned away. we waited for 40 minutes to arrive for our food, but we have no complaints only to the cook! excellent!
Based on hotel's recommendations tried this place for lunch- pretty good, but not exceptional. Then since we couldn't get reservations in another place we went back for dinner. Not as good as lunch. But was ok. Staff was nice, but this place is on the main drag and has a lot of traffic in and out
Tonight was a little cooler in Riquewhir than last night so we looked for a cosy restaurant! The food here was exceptional! I had the trout which was delicious and laden with vegetables too. My husband had chicken which came in a beautiful casserole dish. The service was excellent also!

A traditional restaurant with delicious alsatian speciallities.We had dinner here twice and every plate was well cooked. Very good wine.Very polite staff , especially Mathilde who did everything for us.
We were seated without a reservation, had terrific trout and steak, but the profiteroles for dessert were out of this world! I'm surprised this restaurant doesn't rank higher in the TA rankings.
Just of these typical alsatian restaurants in a very touristic city. Nothing much to say. Nice local salad, nice terrace on the main street
we found the food average, icy service aimed at tourist, there are better opportunities in the city
