Au Quatre - Reservar una mesa

Unfortunately we only discovered this restaurant on the last day of our stay in Pezenas and only then because the owner ventured past and kindly described the dishes on the menu for us. Au Quatre is an intimate, elegant little restaurant which was family owned and exceptionally well run. The food was superb particularly the duck, and the beef was the best we had in France. We ordered the menu of the day (3 courses for 19.50 euro) which with coffee and a bottle of excellent local wine came to 67.70 euro for 2 people. A bargain!

The dish of the day menu is only at 12€ and really worth it. Well served, fresh vegs, our plate was well filled. We ate here a year ago in the summer, eating in the street like the photo you see, of course it was on the market day, every saturday, so the street is closed. This time we ate inside, it was kinda cosy but they could do with a little extra heating. But on the whole the lunch was good.

Warmly greeted by the smiling owner, we were seated in a cosy corner of the restaurant, together with our little dog. We ordered an entrecôte and a baked Camembert, together with a lovely local bottle of white wine. Everything was quite delicious and just what was needed on a rainy night in Pézenas!

The food is the best value for money I had for long time. I am surprised they are nit charging double for what you get. The menu is short and well executed with a lit of love. The owners are very welcoming the place has got a lot of charm. Probably the best place to eat in Pezenas.

Wandered to a table outside here during a hot trip to Pezenas. Unfussy, prompt service and lovely beef skewers with nice vegetables a proper lunch and not the usual meat and chips you sometimes get. The house wine was spot on too.
