Saw this place on our first stroll around Pézenas on a Monday evening it’s weekly closure but something about the place attracted me and I took a pic of the outside. We made it back for dinner on the Wednesday night... so glad we did. My wife and I sat outside but the inside was incredible with two separate dining areas and the kitchen in the cellar. The owner told us he’s taking over next door to add a third dining area. Menu boasts interesting plats de jour at 12€50, the charming Franco Swiss couple on the next table said their plates were delicious one had a half duck breast and the other fillets of red snapper. This small restaurant in the historic old city area has some tables outside as well as inside. Dining in the tiny room overlooking the outdoor dining had a wall mural and was a good people watching spot. The daily special was well-priced and well-prepared—-at least the chicken was. It was accompanied by bland plain noodles which seemed odd but perhaps that’s a local thing? Dunno. There was no music at all which made it feel like closing time although it wasn’t. Staff were kind and attentive. The restroom was clean but full of other items as if it was the maintenance closet. Overall, a solid average in my book. Not sure that I would return given so many other good options nearby.
Very nice place or we eat well and simple. We were very well received by the little waitress, Clemence, always a word for laughter. An unusual and warm place. We advise you to spend a good time with family and friends.
