"We were very grateful when the owner allowed my family of 4 to sit and have a very, very late lunch... They were ready to clear up! A deliciously hearty lunch which even the children tucked in to."

This was our last night in France before heading home.Saw this restaurant on trip advisor and not far from our French home. Been meaning to try it all holiday and finally went on our last night. Greeted by a very friendly lady, I'm guessing she was the proprietor. Although we speak enough French to get by in restaurants she spoke very good English should other people struggle. The food was plentiful and delicious. The menu had lots to chose from. We had the green menu which was 31 euros for 3 courses and also came with some pate and French toast to nibble on while you were choosing. You can also choose from the chefs specials (Portuguese) as part of this menu. Dessert was just as delicious too. Will definitely be back many times!

Visited this friendly family run restaurant over lunch whilst touring the region as it came recommended by friends. Food was of good quality and plentiful for a plat du jour. Other choices on the menu too other than the meal of the day. The restaurant was full and looking around at various dishes served it would warrant a return visit. I would recommend booking ahead though as it's clearly a popular place to eat. Clientele seemed to consist of friends and business colleagues alike. Excellent value served with a friendly smile; very relaxing.

This is a traditional family run restaurant. Veronique is front of house while Victor is the chef. He is from Portugal so there is a Portuguese selection as well, but it is predominantly French. A good sign is that it is well frequented by local French We prefer to eat out at midday as do most French unless it is a birthday celebration or other similar event.

Visited Rouillac on the "27" to go to the market. The Auberge had been recommended to us and did not disappoint. Booking is essential especially if you go on "27". Very friendly staff, service is excellent and place is very well organised. The food is excellent, plenty of it, 4 courses for 17 euros including wine and coffee. Highly recommended.
