The Auberge du Chasseur is a beautiful house converted into a multi-level restaurant and also has a street level eatery with the restaurant upstairs. The restaurant has 2 levels with one of them boasting a large patio that is set during the summer months and on appropriate days with the Swiss mountains and the mountains around Neuchatel and the Lac de Neuchatel. The restaurant is a pleasant 20 minute drive up from Neuchatel itself and in a small village and overlooks the fertile farming and grazing area around village Fontaines. Very popular restaurant outside Neuchatel. Speciality is 'sur ardoise', any form of meat you would like. We visited today because the game season has started and they prepare interesting delicious dishes, we recommend it. And I love the 'help yourself salad bar' and delicious bread! One very important note. The owners are wonderful people, the staff is v polite, courteous and helpful. Good choice of local wines. We had a great evening!
