The Auberge du Chasseur is a beautiful house converted into a multi-level restaurant and also has a street level eatery with the restaurant upstairs. The restaurant has 2 levels with one of them boasting a large patio that is set during the summer months and on appropriate days with the Swiss mountains and the mountains around Neuchatel and the Lac de Neuchatel. Living in the region, I had several meals in this restaurant, and have finally decided to review it , since I think that is more than deserved that they get this recognition. This is the place to go, in the region of Neuchâtel, if you...want to taste the real swiss meat. The restaurant offers the traditional ardoise , with a selection of beef, horse or lamb, and it will be probably one of the best meat that you will taste. I come here because it closes the place I work on. the service is good and it is easy to find a parking space. the lunch menu is the same every week. So I do not recommend to go too often. if you like horse meat, you will like the place. they also have the perch filets and some other simple dishes. I never come here to eat so I can't tell you about it. I recommend coming for a simple lunch menu and it is not too expensive. in summer it is nice when the terrace is open. beautiful view of the val de ruz.
I come here because it's close the place I work. The service is good and it's easy to find a parking. The lunch menu is the same every week. So I don't recommend to go there too often. If you like horse meat, you will like the place. You also have the Perch filets and some other simple dishes. I never come here for dinner so I can't tell you about it. I recommend to come for a simple lunch menu and it's not too expensive. In the summer it's nice when the terrace is open. Nice view of the Val de Ruz.
Very popular restaurant outside Neuchatel. Speciality is 'sur ardoise', any form of meat you would like. We visited today because the game season has started and they prepare interesting delicious dishes, we recommend it. And I love the 'help yourself salad bar' and delicious bread! One very important note. The owners are wonderful people, the staff is v polite, courteous and helpful. Good choice of local wines. We had a great evening!
