Auberge du Schantzwasen

This restaurant is in the mountain northwest of Munster with a reindeer farm. It is a little climb (with a car for sure) to reach but well worth the effort. It is casual, pine decor, with charming hosts. The menu is classic Alsace country. No chichi dishes. There is a reindeer sausage and dried loin dish to nibble on while you peruse the menu. The portions are substantial so be hungry. You should not miss the mountain specialities which make up a marcaire repas such as roigebrageldi and barikass (they will explain) and civet de biche (female deer stew). And all of this at a very low price. Only other bit of advice. This is in the mountains. Go for the beer and not the wine.

Our two families and various friends have spent a fabulous week here together every year for over ten years - we love it. The children (now teenagers) enjoyed feeding time for reindeer as well as the usual skiing and sledding. Great forest walks on the doorstep. Hospitality is second to none and the cuisine is excellent. A really safe place for children and a nice, convivial ambience. Prices are very good value.

Excellent hostel. The hostel is cozy and well decorated, there is a beautiful terrace overlooking the valley and the forest. We feel great. We took a copier snack, it was very good. Don't forget to visit the farm in the reindeer because we spend a great time there.

We spent a very good stay for the new year Everything was really at the top, the welcome, really nice staff, excellent meals. The cleanliness of the premises was impeccable Besides, we had snow. Beautiful walk on the farm in Rennes Reserva una mesa ahora
