Auberge l'Ecurie - Reserva de mesa

Walking past several white-linen-clad fine dining restaurants, we were thrilled to find Auberge l'Ecurie on a narrow Sancerre side street. What a refreshing gem it is. The atmosphere is warm and cozy nothing pretentious! The quaint tavern-like room is packed with friendly people talking...and laughing. Servers are busy, but friendly smiling and teasing us on our feeble attempts at French. Local patrons at neighboring tables were quick to strike up a conversation again, laughing and tutoring us throughout our stay. Our meals arrived quickly and expertly prepared again, nothing pretentious just very good, and plentiful meals! Extremely enjoyable evening in this little hidden gem!

low ceiling, exposed beams, cozy atmosphere, sitting at a stable table makes it comfortable. the proximity to the neighbors leaves the exchange possible. on the plates it is local and more standard kitchen. but the meurette eggs and the veal head gribiche sauce are really worth it. It's good and very copyy. a sure value for the piton

25€ for a menu, 2 plates cheeses dessert and the food was, for the price paid, ok. It is more like a pub than a restaurant, relaxed place and service was fine. if you are not up to an upscale dinner, L’ecurie is a good choice.
