"Wonderful evening in a charming, most French setting. Soupe au pistou and leg of venison in a red wine reduction were fabulous. Highly recommended on all counts."

Arrived on a Friday in Sancerre for a wine weekend. Found the restaurant through the good references on Tripadvisor. The restaurant is out of the Sancerre touristic center. Approx 3km driving. Located in an old house. The maître welcomed us with full passion and presented the menu on a board. He made the right suggestions with first poached eggs in red wine sauce. It doesn’t sound a culinary experience but we can report that this was an incredible dish full of taste. A famous local French dish. Followed by the specialty of the house coq au vin and we finished with a dessert Peach poached in red wine. So we had a true wine menu. Quite heavy stuff but sooo tasty. The maître entertained the ent...

Le LaurierWhy visit Saint Satur? Well because of its proximity to Sancerre , a 2.5 km walk. There is the famous square, nice terraces and wine shops. But hey, Saint Satur has Le Laurier. Plenty of accolades on TripAdvisor and rightly so. This is a charming hotel/restaurant that is run by people with a heart for their business. We slept here and had dinner which was just fine. A very fine wine list , and a well crafted 3-course dinner, great job. I took the opportunity to bike along the Loire on a very fine, dedicated bikepath, just 1 km removed from the hotel. OK folks, it all boils down to this:, if you want to experience the French heartland hospitality , food and fine wines at very reason...

We enjoyed an excellent dinner in a restaurant that we would like to find in each small French town. Those days are gone but not in saint satur. The menu card is quite original and is shown on a handwritten board. We recognized the coq au vin with many good references but we selected bothe the coquilles after a salad and an poached egg in a red wine sauce. It was well prepared and the evening became a superbe experience accompanied with, whatelse, a white Sancerre wine, but Bio! (la Moussiere of Alphonse Mellot). Dont hurry in Le Laurier. The white brigade is equally small as experiences. Elle est but tres sympa and assures great service. Moreover life is too short anyway.

Unlike several other restaurants in the area, we were welcome here with our dog. The place is really very charming. The food and wine fit perfectly within this setting and was truly delicious. The menu included typical French dishes brought in a culinary way. As a starter, we both ordered amandes de mer gratinées. After that, we enjoyed the pavé de boeuf tataki style with gratin dauphinois. Both dishes were very good but I was especially blown away by the dessert: panna cotta with fresh mango. As icing on the cake, the waitress was very classy, friendly and polite. Highly recommended! Reserva una mesa ahora

We saw a few less than favorable reviews regarding this restaurant and just have to say, comme ci, comme ca. Incredibly romantic old inn setting. Son seats and serves, mother cooks (and knits on couch in the lobby later in the evening when kitchen is done). 25 euro prix fixe dinner menu could not have been a better value, regardless of whether or not you think every course is the best you ever had. Very fun/creative menu that delivers exactly what it claims it will. Would absolutely eat here again.

Good wholesome food, nicely presented and cooked well. A rustic charm. The owner was extremely helpful and service was very good. We were a group of ten celebrating a birthday and had a separate room. We took the fixed menu at just under 30 euros which was good value.

This chef knows his stuff. This is our second visit. Broad range, quality ingredients, and a great style. The carrots sweet, the potatoes cooked just right, the crockery matches the food, service faultless.

This is a typically French village-type restaurant. which for a Monday night was surprisingly busy. Menu choice was very good, as was the wine. Coq au vin very nice, as was the cheese course. Reserva una mesa ahora

Good food, excellent service, in a beautiful setting. Fresh flowers filled every nook and corner of the dining room. Restaurant is operated by a charming mother/son team.
