The best recommendation you can have for a restaurant in France is that it is full of French people. Sometimes it is so full that you have to wait outside, but you know it will be worth it. We were lucky; inside it is bigger than it looks and there were still some tables available. We opted for the cheapest set menu at an amazingly low price for three courses and added some good red wine, en pichet, at little more than it would cost in a supermarket. The menu was appealing, but the real surprises were the quality and quantity. First we got an appetiser that we were not expecting, and of course a bowl of bread. Great little find, with a view of the sea. The food and pricing reminded of everything ive come to love about French bistro / restaurants over the last few years. 11 euros for 3 courses, brilliant value. Speedy food delivery from excellent waiting staff. Food quality was good and in value terms was simply excellent especially when compared to other restaurants in the Saint Jean de Luz area. Couple that with nice local rose at 4 euros a half litre and we left very happy customers having spent less than 70 euros for the 5 of us. Top tip - go early! We got the last outside table and were there at 7.30.
You will park right next to the Beach park and ready for a beach stroll after lunch (or diner).The 3 course menu for 11 euros is really good with local favorites and if you want to splurge, the 18 euro menu gets you all the good stuff such as foie gras and more.Clean, good and affordable to go there instead of cooking. Outdoor patio sitting is available.
A beachfront restaurant that is just fabulous value for money, great food, great service and their squid beignets are to die for, dont expect fine dining but you can expect a warm welcome, terrific food, great value and a damn good night at a fraction of the price you'd find in Biarritz

This is the worst meal we have ever endured in France, and we have had some bad experiences. The so called meat was so tough you could not eat it. To add insult to injury the rude waiter tried to charge us double for the poor quality house wine.
We stopped here after a full day of touring the Basque Country. They offered an 11 euro meal which your pick an appetizer, main course, and dessert. It was wonderful for the price. The atmosphere with the ocean breeze on the patio was lovely.
It is cheap but maybe there is a good reason for that.... Food is poor and service is poor.... Although it was recommended by a lot of people I was very disappointed.
Great dinner with friends. Smiling friendly service, excellent food, great deserts. Beware that they only take cash!
