Peter Genovese the famed food reviewer lists Town Hall Deli and The Millburn Deli as having the best Sloppy Joe’s in NJ year after year. Those are great spots with some superb sandwiches. However Avenue Deli is the best kept secret known to the true foodies as the home of the best Sloppy Joe sandwiches on the planet. We love this place that’s been around for generations.

Best Deli in the area, period. The sandwiches are ingenious; the roast beef is beautifully cooked in the house; the hot dishes are comforting delicious. Even her simple chicken (served over rice) is cooked in a broth that is sooo good. And the staff is always friendly and helpful. You even remember how to take my sandwich! Defeat every chain deli, hands down.

I've been going to Ave Deli for over 17 years. The food is very delicious and there are many different sandwiches to choose. Monday thru Friday they have different hot foods to choose. I enjoy her penne vodka and I love her aubergine that's only on Friday. The service is excellent and it is always busy

The marinated grilled vegetable panini is the best!!! One of my favorite sandwiches in the area. We also love turkey sloppy Joe. Everything's so good!
