We had a fantastic time at this restaurant! Our group of 12, including my family, gathered to celebrate my sister's 42nd birthday. The servers were friendly and attentive, ensuring quick service and refills. My sister even got a mariachi hat and a birthday song from the staff. The food was delicious and authentic, with a wide variety of options available for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Don't miss out on trying this place! 1,001 reviews and 4 1/2 stars? Overrated! The service was very good. Their handmade tortillas were excellent but it ended there. I had their Mojarra al Mojo de Ajo. A deep fried fish covered in a garlic sauce that overpowered the fish.. Almost as if they were trying to tone down the garlic, Avila's fish sat on a bed plain tasting french fries and an even more ordinary side of salad. The best word to Avila is ordinary. Next time? There are an endless number of sidewalk taco vendors within blocks of Avila. That is where I will go next time I'm in the area.

I've been coming to this restaurant for many years and the food is always been good and we always have a good experience at this place but I took my wife there on Sunday about noon she wanted pozole we were surprised and disappointed the juice tasted like water and the meat was very dry and hard to chew sad to say but next time we want pozole we will probably be going somewhere else
