Awt's The Greyhound On Gallowstree

We initially visited the nearby Greyhound Inn, where we encountered a rude man who told us not to park in the reserved parking lot. When we mentioned we wanted to eat, he was dismissive and insisted we needed to book a table. Disappointed, we decided to try the Unicorn instead. What a difference! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the menu was reasonably priced and expertly prepared. We enjoyed our meal in the beautiful garden, served by two young women named Rachel and Laura. They were professional, attentive, and friendly. I would suggest that the staff at the Greyhound visit the Unicorn to see how customers should be treated. Sent an email asking for a table for 3 for 12:00 on a Sunday. Arrived at 11:45 to find the entrance to the garden closed and padlocked.A member of staff advised that as they served food from 12:00, the entrance would remain closed until then.Once we got in, it turned out the booking had been made for 4 and was challenged as to who made the error.Food was excellent, quick and well presented.Unfortunately let down by the welcome and staff attitude.

I had high hopes when I visited AWT's pub, and I was not disappointed. The roast was excellent in quality and we received fantastic service, with the staff even rearranging tables to accommodate our two prams at the last minute. The service throughout the meal was perfectly timed. The pub itself is also lovely, decorated beautifully for Christmas. I rate the food, service, and atmosphere all 5 out of 5.

The staff are so welcoming and made everyone at the table feel special. Food was fantastic and something on the menu for everyone. The garden looks amazing and inside is so eclectic. Will definitely be returning when I'm not pregnant so I can try the Wagu beef!
