This bakery now in Centreville is the current outlet of the wonderful and cheerful people who owned and operated the Saraj Bakery and Café in New Minas. My spouse and I have been customers of Sanja for many years. This week we made our first visit to the new bakery and café. It is now in the rural village of Centreville, in the north-centre of the Annapolis Valley (near Kentville). As before they have their wondrous artisan breads and pastries and great coffee. There are some hidden gems in small towns, but unfortunately this restaurant is not one of them. I had the unfortunate experience of dining there. My instincts told me to leave, but I decided to stay. I found out that there was no menu and only one meal available. I ordered a cheese sandwich (since my daughter didn't want a meat sandwich) and two meat sandwiches. The meat in the sandwiches was mostly gristle and fat, making it difficult to chew. To my surprise, I was charged a hefty $69 for the three sandwiches. When I questioned the price, the owner claimed it was a mistake and charged me $51.75 instead. I enjoyed the daily special today. A tasty Moroccan lamb soup and lentils side dish with a substantial sliced brisket sandwich on a fresh baked in house French bread stick. Excellent fresh veggies, cheese slices and condiments. Quick preparation and attentive service. Ice with the water would be an improvement and a slice lemon or lime even better. The european style breads are excellent and the on site baked pastries can be even better.
This bakery is fantastic! I ordered a 4-layer chocolate cake for my father's 75th birthday and Sonya delivered an incredible cake that was not only delicious but also made our celebration extra special. The cake was rich in chocolate flavor yet light and beautifully made. I also enjoyed their cookies and bread. I will definitely be ordering from here again for my mom's birthday!

We were all extremely happy with our meals and service was warm and friendly. Coffee was delicious, as well as the baked goods we decided to take to go. Overall a great experience, will definitely return.
Their bread is baked on site daily and is delicious. We buy it weekly. The menu looks good so we plan on having lunch there soon. It is a small family run restarant and bakery that is very welcoming.
Always delicious and always fresh. I stop in here overtime I get a chance. One of my favourite places to eat in the Valley :) Thank you for the excellent meals and desserts.

The mother/daughter combo here are wonderful people. The biggest problem you will have here is choosing which treat to have. The European treats are amazing!!!!
