Bakers Street Cafe

We had breakfast at 730am on a Wednesday morning so no crowd and instant table. our waiter, Buddy, had our coffee carafe on the table within two minutes. Fabulous coffee and he made sure we always had coffee. I had the campfire eggs- piping hot and so incredibly flavourful. The home fries were ridiculously good with chunks of onion, slices of yellow peppers, quarter potatoes and a zippy spicing. Again, all piping hot. Fabulous baked beans with a lovely sweet taste - so much flavour. The fruit salad was great and full of fresh and tasty melon, cantaloupe, pineapple, banana and a smattering of berries- to die for. There are lots of options for having breakfast and most are decently good. Then there are great little restaurants that may cost a few dollars more than some but are so worth it. This is one of those. Located in the heart of Westboro on Richmond Road we visited shortly after 0900 on a weekday. Nice to find free onstreet parking available right in front of the restaurant. You enter a comfortable but in no way pretentious space and are welcomed pleasantly. My guess is there may be waits on the weekend but at this time on a weekday we were seated immediately. Upon arrival my friend looked and was disparaged by the sight of the line ahead of us as we were both hungry, however, empty tables were in view as well as the fact many people were on the verge of departing (notable is the fact we were inside the door as often the line stretches outside)Upon being seated shortly afterward, the waiter was right there with our coffee carafe (we later asked for more coffee and it was provided at no extra charge imagine).We both then selected our food and waited in eager anticipation for it to arrive .I ordered the eggs benny a la Montreal and she the strip loin (cooked medium at the waiters suggestion) which were both incredible (although seeing the magnificen...

We went unexpectedly for Sunday brunch with a large group. Our first destination became inaccessible because of a serious traffic incident. This was a very pleasant surprise. We did not have to wait for too long to be seated, especially considering that they don't take reservations and we were a large family of 7. It was a take the great-grandparents out for brunch event. The owner/manager went to heroic lengths to ensure our elderly guests felt special. The food was very good. Huge portions, and very fresh fruit salads. I visited this restaurant recently for a second time just to convince myself the first visit was not a flukeI ordered the same breakfast-the blueberry pancakeswell it was better than the first timeI have never had pancakes so large and tasteful in Canada-if you read my reviews you know I am partial to a restaurant in Amherst New York-I can honesty say that in the future whenever I am in Ottawa I will definitely make sure I eat here once for breakfastThe wait staff are friendly and know their menu

It's not often you are greeted by mini muffins while waiting your turn to enter a restaurant. This was the first pleasant surprise. Ordered the Baker Street club and it was fantastic. Large potions here! Fresh ingredients mixed with large portions that are very well prepared. Cinnamon buns are a must here as well. Get here early to help with lines if not try to get here by 1:00.

The food was amazing with very generous portions and my eggs were poached exactly as I asked. The wait staff was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was amazing.We went early, around 9 am on a Sunday and there was no wait at all. By the time we left there was quite a line-up but they appeared happy with the little bites the staff was handing out.!

Every time we visit BSC, there is a huge line up out the door. If you haven't been here, it's worth the wait. They nail the breakfast every time. The owner will usually come by and offer you a freshly baked cookie while you wait or on your way out.

Has to be one of the best breakfast in Ottawa, ON. Food served hot, just the way I like it. Eggs cooked perfectly.
