It was almost two years since our last visit here but, having read so many positive reviews, we decided to give Bamboo another go. We visited on a Sunday and found the restaurant much quieter than we had in the past. Our entrees proved a big disappointment. The fried crab dumplings weren't available so we settled for spring rolls and wantons. Both were presented without any form of garnish and, as a result, lacked plate appeal. Both were served with the same rather boring plum sauce. A little more "kick" was required and the spring rolls were especially bland and needed to have been allowed to drain on paper towels before serving as they were very oily. Bamboo has been my go to for Asian food for many years. Pictured is salt & pepper squid, me goreng & BBQ pork rice. All came out very quickly, as usual. One of the things I really like about Bamboo is that the food is guaranteed to come out quickly. Prices are good for the portion you receive. Each dinner meal is priced between $10-$15. Wouldn't suggest driving a far distance to go to Bamboo, but if it's local to where you live would recommend it :)

Came here for dinner on a weeknight. Good ambience, service was attentive, lots of food choices. Always enjoyed Bamboo's version of fried kway teow. San mee was good. Chicken rice was average. Deducted points for the cold demeanor of the lady at the cashier counter. Maybe it was a bad day?
